Aramco launches USD 1bn tender for Safaniya oilfield 

Saudi's Safaniya field tenderedSaudi Aramco has issued a tender for the next phase of redevelopment work for the Safaniya oilfield. Bids for the EPCI contract are due at the end of June. The package, expected to have a budget of c.USD 1bn, comprises of 10 jackets, 9 platform decks, an electrical distribution platform, pipelines and cabling, and the removal of several outdated facilities. While this tender has been issued for LTA members, Aramco is likely to negotiate more LTAs with additional contractors, thus suggesting the potential growth in the volume of offshore work planned.




Petrofac to provide EPCM for PDO

Petrofac wins EPCM work from PDOPetrofac has secured a long-term Framework Agreement (FA) with Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) for providing Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) Support Services for major oil and gas projects. The 10year agreement, which has an additional 5year option, builds upon a 3year programme of EPCM support contract delivery that Petrofac has undertaken on behalf of PDO. Future projects under the FA will be supported by Petrofac’s Muscat office for technical delivery and to ensure that in-country value is generated.



AMEC FW wins contract for Aramco's Marjan Field Development

Marjan Field Development works by AMECSaudi Aramco has awarded AMEC Foster Wheeler (AMEC FW) a 5year contract to provide offshore and onshore field work services at the Marjan oilfield. Under the contract, AMEC FW will carry out the pre-FEED, FEED, overall programme management, and other support services for an additional 300,000 barrels per day gas/oil separation train, a world scale greenfield gas processing plant, a cogeneration facility and modifications to an existing facility to add natural gas liquids fractionation capacity.


Weir O&G acquires KOP Surface Products for USD 114mn

Weir buys KOPWeir Oil & Gas has announced that it has acquired KOP Surface Products for USD 114mn, with the acquisition expecting to be complete in Q3 2017. Weir Oil & Gas is a part of the Weir Group PLC; the company is a global provider of well service & stimulation pumps, flow control products and replacement expendable parts in the oil & gas industry. KOP, on the other hand, designs & produces wellheads, surface trees, valves, actuators and aftermarket services for the oil & gas industry. The acquisition of KOP Surface Products is said to complement and add value to Weir’s portfolio and further strengthen its position in providing pressure control solutions.
