Qatargas 2 signs a 15yr LNG deal with Pakistan 

QatarGas LNG pakistan dealQatar Liquefied Gas Company Limited 2 (Qatargas 2) signed a long-term agreement to supply Pakistan State Oil Company Limited (PSO) with LNG. Under the agreement, Qatargas 2 will supply 3.75 mn tonnes per annum (MTPA) of LNG to PSO for a period of 15 years. The first cargo is expected to be delivered in March 2016.



Transco and ENEC sign deal for Electricity Transmission from Barakah Power plant

kahrama-qatar-siemensEmirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC) has recently signed a Connection & Interface Agreement (C&IA) with Abu Dhabi Transmission & Despatch Company (TRANSCO). The agreement establishes a framework which will allow electricity, generated from ENEC's four nuclear energy units in Barakah, to be transmitted by TRANSCO's power lines to the U.A.E. grid. ENEC is progressing with its nuclear energy units in Barakah as planned. While Unit 1 is more than 84% complete, Unit 2, 3, 4 are 64%, 41% and 25% complete respectively. The four nuclear energy units are scheduled to come online by 2020.


UAE plans new floating terminal this year

Floating LNG UAEADNOC plans to start a new liquefied natural gas floating import terminal (FSRU) in the second half of 2016. Excelerate Energy, a U.S. gas shipping company, will supply the floating import terminal. This terminal will have an import capacity of approximately 1mn tonnes per year. The UAE already imports LNG by a floating terminal supplied by Excelerate Energy off the coast of Dubai.
